Summary
Life can be so easy when clever automatisms take the time-consuming paperwork off your hands! Especially since you can also avoid many careless mistakes. But back to the test and my conclusion, which of course the database cannot take away from me.
The improvements are significant and once again deserve a summarized evaluation for a normalized fan speed of 1000 rpm. The volumetric airflow in m3/h increases, depending on the installation scenario or radiator thickness between 4.5 and 13.3 percent, whereby especially the 45 mm radiator benefits enormously, which had still caused head shaking in revision 1. Static pressure also increases by 11.1 percent on this particular radiator now, so there’s no difference from what it was anymore. So Arctic has been able to fix the bug completely.
In terms of noise emissions (“loudness”), the measured level drops by a remarkable 2.9 and 2.8 percent when used as a case fan and on the Slim radiator, respectively, with the rest of the radiators providing an identical soundscape. The maximum speed also increases a bit in the free setup as a case fan, although this value, as well as the start-up speeds, should rather be within the tolerance range of the manufacturing. There are always certain fluctuations. The only thing that stands out is the significantly lower shutdown speed with voltage-regulated control, which is now really good.
Conclusion
Arctic has done everything right and improved the model, although it is absolute budget class. This all happened more or less unnoticed and without much advertising, so almost secretly, quietly. And this is exactly where my quiet criticism comes in, but it is rather directed against the providers of the stores. Because for the customer it is de facto usually not apparent which revision he is buying in the online store without seeing the box in nature. Because that’s the only place where you can really tell for sure:
In the end, however, retailers are cutting their own throats if this results in returns. I like to chalk that up to instant karma. And that’s exactly the reason for today’s article, because there are many good reasons to buy the current revision. If you already own revision 1 fans, you don’t have to sort them out now, only the lapse on 45 mm radiators will continue to lug them around. If he uses such parts at all. If not, also well. In any case, the price is still right.
