AMD Ryzen 3900X and 3700X review | igor'sLAB

Power: SPEC Workstation

Here, the behavior of the AMD CPUs is reminiscent of the tests on the previous pages, but this time the performance of the Ryzen 7 3700X in some benchmarks seems more at odds with the 9900K, whose operating frequencies are always higher. This is especially true for the LuxenRender, which handles multithreading very well. Since the 9900K clocks more on all cores with 600 MHz than the new CPUs from the red bearing, the result is accordingly clear. It looks like the 3700X's memory performance will have a very strong impact on the overall performance of the processor.

For Blender, the number of threads counts, followed by the heartbeat.

The new AMD CPUs are always at the forefront of workstation applications such as Catia and Creo.

In 7-zip compression, Intel processors once again outperform the performance of their AMD competitors. Only the 9600K has to be defeated by the new Ryzens.

In decompression, the times are in favour of the 3900X and confirm the significantly higher performance compared to the 9900K. However, the 3700X is rather modest in this task field, despite or because of its 16 threads, because the clock is also significantly lower.
