Summary
A visually simple case with enough space, which can be transformed from its simple appearance – into a feast for the eyes with a little imagination. That’s how I would describe the Sharkoon M30 RGB. What I particularly like about this is that the M30 can easily accommodate the new monster graphics cards with overlength. For comparison, an RTX 3070 Ti SuprimX is 335 mm long and the RTX 4090 SuprimX is 336 mm long. It would easily fit in here – even in vertical shoring. It will be a bit narrower between the fan and the side window, but it would still work.
The Sharkoon S80 does quite well. The pump is adjustable and with the set 2,300 rpm – it remains inaudible and delivers a solid performance. If you only stress the CPU over 30 minutes of Cinebench R23, then the CPU stays very just below 80 degrees. Solid!
The power supply from Seasonic is definitely not cheap, but it is one of the best on the market. I could neither fully utilize the Prime GX-850 ATX 2.4 with the PC – nor hear it. The fan always runs with me, since I do not activate the zero-fan mode. I think that I can also say – without – detailed power supply test, who wants a good power supply, should also easily put around 150 euros on the table. At least in the 850 watt class. Anyone who wants to save here is, in case of doubt, saving in the wrong place.
Conclusion
For about 70 to 80 euros, you have the choice between side glass yes – or no. You get a good case base that is especially suitable for entry-level and mid-range PCs. But you can also do high-end hardware if you have enough space for it. The fact that Sharkoon only installs one fan in the front and then also without RGB is ultimately due to the price war.
Unfortunately, the Sharkoon M30 RGB is currently not a clear buy recommendation. The Sharkoon TG7M is much cheaper in comparison. You basically get the same case for an additional 13 Euros. Only the front of the TG7M has a different look and four SilentStorm 120 mm RGB fans are pre-installed. This almost makes the TG7M a price-performance recommendation – even though I did not test it. However, it can be deduced from the test of the M30.
The Sharkoon M30 still has to set itself apart from the TG7M a bit more on the market. You definitely won’t do anything wrong with the M30. Thus, the Performance Booster Award is not without reason, because if you compare the MSRPs of the two in-house opponents, then 120 Euros vs. 80 Euros. If you then only upgrade the fans, you end up saving a good 10 euros or more…
The Sharkoon M30 aRGB, the S80 AiO as well as the Seasonic 850 Watt power supply – was provided to me by Sharkoon and Seasonic for the test. No influence or compensation for expenses was exercised. The remaining components are mainly from my private or test stock.
