The fan control is very conservatively loosened and you leave the fans at Plait and Gainward with approx. 1000 rpm, even without load. From approx. 50 °C then starts to increase the speeds, the increase of which is of course much stronger in the model with only one fan. The whole thing will then be audible in any case. But for the Quiet-Treter-people there are still the more expensive flagships (spoilers), which then of course also include the monetary Ohropax surcharge.
In the stress test, by the way, the curves look very similar.
Let's look at the measured values again in direct comparison to the Founders Edition as a tabular listing:
GeForce GTX 1660 Super 2 fans / 1 fan |
|
---|---|
Fan Speeds Closed Case Maximum | 1975 rpm /2209 rpm |
Fan Speeds Closed Case Average | 1960 rpm / 2179 rpm |
Noise Emission (Air) Average | 38.3 dB(A) / 38.8 dB(A) |
Fan stop |
No |
Sound characteristic / hearing impression | noisy, oscillating / noisy |
Coil-feathers/electric noises | Hardly audible at lower fan speeds. |
Sound Spectrum
We see in direct comparison that the noise level of both fan variants hardly differs, but the frequency spectrum and thus also the subjectively perceived sound. First, the model with the two fans, in which above all the lower frequency bearing noises add up.
The Pegasus OC with the one fan fights quite bravely and produces a rather uniform noise, which can also be seen on the graphics. There are much more turbulences here.
The bottom line is that just under 39 dB(A) is not yet very quiet, but since the level consists of predominantly uniform noise, it is quite tolerable and also quite easy to insulate.
