Interior structure
Let’s now go one layer deeper, with the four easily accessible screws on the bottom loosened, we can also take a first look inside.
And there we see a familiar picture, besides the holder for a 2.5″ drive, there is also easy access to the SSD or the M.2 slot and both SO-DIMM slots. The NVMe SSD is also cooled via the aluminum base thanks to a heat conduction pad.
This is an OM8PDP3512B-A01 from Kingston, one of the classic OEM SSDs from the embedded sector. And the RAM comes from Kingston as well, a single 16GB bar of model KVR32S22D8/16, DDR4-3200 CL22-22-22.
Removing the SSD reveals an Intel dual-band wireless AC 7265 WLAN chip, which is permanently integrated on the motherboard. Other than that, there’s not much exciting to see on this page.
Two screws and a bit of fiddling later, the other side of the motherboard is revealed in all its glory, clearly dominated by the notebook-style cooler. The BIOS battery also finds its place here.
