Summary and conclusion
If you take a look at our large overall comparison, this system falls into the upper midfield in terms of CPU performance at the time of testing. With the fast PCIe 4.0 SSD, it even plays a leading role in the memory tests. As usual, however, AMD simply has the better graphics chips and doesn’t let itself be outdone.
Battle of the dwarfs: Mini-PC benchmark comparison and overview of all models tested so far
Unfortunately, the trend of quite high temperatures under maximum load continues, be it in Prime95 or the MSI Kombustor. The grilles on the left and right side of the case are commendable, but the cooler would certainly prefer an opening in the lid.
There are even corresponding holes, but these are then blocked by the solid lid. Perhaps the design of Beelink could be used as a guide here, whose fine grille on the top allows for significantly more ventilation.
The configuration I tested here today with i7-12650H, 32GB RAM and 1TB currently costs €600; if you halve the RAM and storage capacity, it’s €550. With the code “IG30IT12” there is another 30€ discount, we have declined a commission. I or IgorsLab do not earn any money by using the voucher codes. Even in the manufacturer’s own range, this is unfortunate pricing and makes recently tested alternatives such as the Geekom A5 with a 5800H the more tempting offer. If you don’t necessarily need Intel QuickSync or the better support of Intel network cards in the home server sector, I would tend towards the AMD models.
