Summary and conclusion
In fact, the Air12 can easily outperform the EQ12 with an identical processor in most tests, which could be due to the different RAM. Here is the big overall comparison:
Battle of the dwarfs: Mini-PC benchmark comparison and overview of all models tested so far
Specific differences that could have been responsible for the slightly better performance:
- Beelink EQ12 – 4800Mhz DDR5 40-39-39-76 tRC 115 – NVMe 4.0 1x SSD
- Geekom Air12 – 4400Mhz DDR5 36-36-69-70 tRC 106 – NVMe 4.0 4x SS D
Apart from that, most of the points for my conclusion remain identical. The Intel N series picks up where the Pentium processors last left off. It provides roughly the minimum performance required for everyday use of the computer.
The Air12 mini PC is currently on offer for €279, with a further €30 discount if you use the code “IG30AIR12”. We have declined a commission, I or IgorsLab do not receive any compensation when using the voucher codes. The final price is therefore around €250 for the configuration with 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 512GB NVMe 4.0 SSD.

In my opinion, this is not a bad offer, but it is somewhat clouded by the use of only one RAM stick. However, this is not Geekom’s fault, as Intel only provides the N100 processor with one memory channel. Dual-channel would certainly provide a little more performance. Apart from that, you can get surprisingly far with this “small” CPU with really very low power consumption; my DIY NAS, for example, also runs with this processor. This system could therefore also be suitable as an economical home server. However, the jump in price to significantly more powerful machines is not that far.
[wonderplugin_slider id=17]The test sample was provided by Geekom without obligation. There was and is no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish.
