Conclusion
All in all, the FSP CUT 593 Premium Ultra is a rather average case, but it will certainly find its fans in terms of looks. Thanks to the “clean” cable management in particular, it is definitely an eye-catcher and a lot of fun to avoid piles of cables! In addition to the stylish look and the generous amount of space, the case also scores points with four fairly quiet 140mm ARGB fans, although “quiet” is of course always relative – they certainly don’t make any annoying bearing noises or rattle like the fans of the recently tested APNX C1.
Unfortunately, the list of negative aspects is at least as long and here I am particularly annoyed by the material appearance, which does not fully live up to the claim of the case and, above all, the price. First and foremost, there is the very thin sheet metal, which makes the actually ingenious cable management a little frustrating in the end. But the mediocre paintwork (including paint noses, even if only in the interior), the poor tooling and the issue with the expansion slots also tarnish the overall picture quite significantly. In the entry-level and mid-range segment, you can let something like this “slide”, but at a price of around 140 euros and the self-confidently chosen name “Premium Ultra”, the customer expects a slightly higher quality.
It will certainly be possible to remedy the quality of workmanship, because that’s what such tests are for, if the internal QM doesn’t see something like that. However, the cover over the expansion slots should really be reconsidered, as there will not only be extra-thin slot covers for the expansion cards and a significantly larger cut-out would really be worth its weight in gold.
“The case and power supply were provided by FSP for this test. The only condition was compliance with the embargo period, there was no influence or compensation.”
