In August last year, I already tested the most affordable member of the new Neptune 4 series from Elegoo here without any name additions, today we are moving to the exact opposite side of the spectrum. The “Max” version offers a gigantic 420 x 420 x 480 mm print volume and is still supposed to be equipped with all the advantages of the smaller models. So let’s take a look together at how this 3D printer performs in practice.
Click here for the test report of the small version:

In many respects, the large and small versions are very similar, if not identical. I will therefore not go into all the details again here.
Packaging and scope of delivery
Before I could get started, I first had to find a suitable place for the photos. Because a large 3D printer naturally comes in an even larger box.
At this point, I would also like to remind you that you are welcome to take a few steps towards the letter carrier. He probably can’t help the somewhat damaged condition and they already do enough lugging anyway.
However, a first look inside leads me to believe that no damage has been done despite the rough journey to me. So get a yellow bag ready, there’s quite a lot of foam to dispose of.
However, I was somewhat surprised by the two circular cut-outs. Although two rolls of filament were sent to me together with the printer, they were simply glued to the outside of the package.
Incidentally, the contents continue one layer deeper, where the large base is located.
As you can see, the scope of delivery is also quite extensive, including a USB stick, replacement nozzle, spatula and a 512 MB micro SD card with reader in addition to the obligatory parts for assembly.
Before we start assembling, here is an overview of the technical details, further information can be found on the manufacturer’s product page.
