CrankzWare RainPOW! 2.0 Review – RGB controller, intelligent fan control, image controlled monitor backlight and much more

Sensor Inputs

I already had to jump back and forth a bit in terms of content, but now I’ve finally reached the sensors. Up to four external 10 kOhm sensors can be connected and evaluated. You can really use almost all common sensors with 2-pin connectors. This ranges from normal sensors from the cooling circuit to simple sensors such as those found on some motherboards as accessories.

Which brings us to the evaluation. In addition to the up to two trigger levels for the different temperature thresholds, you can also work with an additional offset and give the sensor a unique name. The display just shows the room temperature, but it could have been something else.

Control with the Hardware Monitor: Use system sensors!

This offer is very helpful, because you can also read CPU and GPU separately and thus build an optimal control. To be able to use this, you can now go the other way round and give each of these sensor values a threshold, and optionally assign a fan/pump channel and/or an LED channel.

This is also true for the GPU, so that you can use it for example to can control the fans of a ghetto mod perfectly via RainPOW.

The picture shows the conversion of a Radeon VII to 12 cm fans. It would now be really easy to control the board accordingly with the desired speed and even to realize a start-stop function via the threshold value.
