Unboxing, product images and scope of delivery
Corsair has also been using our Cybenetics label on its power supply cases for quite some time. Hopefully they will eventually be put on the front where they belong! 😉
The case has a sticker with ATX 3.0 compatibility on the upper right side. This also stands for a 600W 12VHPWR connection. A sticker informs you that it is normal if the fan does not turn and that you should not complain about the power supply! This is said to have happened with other models and manufacturers from time to time…
The 1000W and 1200W Shift models are slightly larger than the smaller models with a depth of 180 mm. The side-mounted modular panel looks odd, but you never know. With the right housing, it can be beneficial! Or could?
Which brings us elegantly to the cables. There are no capacitors in the cables, and the supplied cables and plugs are very large, so they can easily deliver the full power of the power supply. I would like to see more spacing between the peripheral ports.
In tabular form, it reads like this:
Description | Cable Count | Connector Count (Total) | Gauge | In Cable Capacitors |
---|---|---|---|---|
ATX connector 20+4 pin (610mm) | 1 | 1 | 16-18AWG | No |
4+4 pin EPS12V (650mm) | 2 | 2 | 18AWG | No |
12+4 pin PCIe (660mm) | 1 | 1 | 16AWG | No |
6+2 pin PCIe (660mm) | 4 | 4 | 16AWG | No |
6+2 pin PCIe (660mm+100mm) | 2 | 4 | 16-18AWG | No |
SATA (460mm+110mm+110mm) | 4 | 16 | 18AWG | No |
4-pin Molex (450mm+100mm+100mm+100mm) | 2 | 8 | 18AWG | No |
AC Power Cord (1400mm) – C13 coupler | 1 | 1 | 16AWG | – |
Protection circuits
OCP at 12V and OPP are set correctly. On the other hand, OCP is set a bit too high on the slave rails, especially at 3.3 V. However, there are no problems with load regulation or ripple. All other protection features are also present and work well.
