Topology and teardown
The Corsair HX1500i uses a heavily modified CST platform from CWT. Corsair has its own R&D team that doesn’t just take a ready-made OEM platform and relabel it. A group of people are working hard to deliver the best possible performance from platforms that OEMs are not allowed to provide to other brands. It’s more expensive, of course, but it’s one of the main reasons for Corsair’s current dominance in the PSU market.
The build quality is high, and high-quality parts have been used, including FETs from Infineon and Vishay and controllers from Texas Instruments. In addition, there is a microchip MCU. In addition, the platform is modern and semi-digital, which means that the digital controllers control the entire primary side and part of the secondary side. The only circuits that use analog controllers are the VRMs for the slave rails and the 5VSB circuit
