Optics and haptics
Finally unpacked, a first look at the new FLUX series can be taken, which, in addition to new fans with 0 RPM mode, also has a new, elegant design for the pump block.
The manufacturer claims a full 16.7% more air flow (CFM) and 18.4% higher static pressure (mmH2O). Visually, the fan blades connected by a ring are especially striking.
Despite great packaging and protection by thick cardboard, the radiator has suffered some damage on both sides. Of course, only visually and not functionally, but still worth mentioning.
Unlike many other AiO water coolers, the coldplate is angular and not round, and the contact surface also protrudes a bit. Cooler Master claims to have increased the area of the microfins by 20% by reducing the thickness of the copper plate towards the CPU, and then used the resulting free space to improve cooling.
Visually, the PL240 FLUX is supposed to convince with an elegant design, which in my opinion is also well done. However, the reflective cover on the pump block only attracts fingerprints, so it is recommended to remove the protective films only after installation.
Otherwise, polishing is the order of the day, because the RGB lighting makes every spot shine in an unattractive gloss at the latest.
