Technical data
As always, let’s start with the technical data in tabular form.
Versions and prices
The Shadow Base 800 is offered in different colors and configurations. Basically, the case will be available in black or white and each will be offered with or without ARGB accents or fans.
Features
The features depend on the model. The features presented below apply to the Shadow Base 800 FX, but do not necessarily apply to all models in the series.
ARGB lighting
Two discreet ARGB strips are embedded in the front, and the FX is also equipped with four 140mm ARGB fans.
Integrated PWM and ARGB Hub
To adjust the fans (speed and lighting), the FX comes to the customer with a pre-installed PWM and ARGB hub. The hub has a total of 8 ports, of which only 4 are occupied as standard.
Rotatable PCIE slots
The Shadow Base 800 also has rotatable PCIE slots for vertical mounting of graphics cards.
Fans
The FX comes with four ARGB fans pre-installed and has room for a total of 8 120/140mm fans in the following positions:
Radiators and Water Cooling
The case also has room for large water loops with radiators up to 420mm in size:
Again, we did our research and ran through a few combinations.
360mm (slim) in the lid and 360mm (fat) at the front
420mm (slim) in the front and 280mm (slim) in the lid
420mm (slim) in the front and 360mm (slim) in the lid
Since I don’t have 420mm radiators available, I wasn’t able to investigate the claim, but BeQuiet! states that the case can also accommodate 420mm radiators in the front and in the lid at the same time, and even gives the maximum possible thickness of the radiators.
