Average noise level
You can’t call this power supply loud, but I’ve heard more in this area from a be quiet! expected. The RM1000e even wins here with a difference of 5.1 dBA in average noise development.
This also applies to the 115V test, where almost the same value was determined.
Fan noise and speed measurements @ 28-32 °C
With a power of up to 490 W, the spinning of the fan is not audible. The 30-dBA mark is exceeded at 700 W, and at 810 W and higher loads the power supply is noisy, exceeding 40 dBA. The fan speed profile at high loads affects the overall volume. You won’t notice the fan’s noise at light and medium loads.
