Topology and teardown
This modern platform from HEC uses decent parts that get the job done without breaking the bank. I have no problem with the Teapo bulk caps, but I would feel safer if be quiet! would use better filter caps on the secondary side. To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, the Corsair RM1000x (2021) uses nine Nippon Chemi-Con (4-10,000h @ 105°C, KY) filter capacitors and the rest of the capacitors are of similar quality, while this be quiet! 14x Teapo SC capacitors used, which only have a life of 1-3,000h, depending on their size.
The difference in durability is considerable. Apart from that, the Pure Power 11 FM 1000 currently costs just under 150 Euros, while the RM1000x costs almost 200 Euros. The difference of 50 euros is considerable. Corsair’s RM1000e model uses a similar specification, but with a different design HEC platform that uses multiple Teapo SC caps and includes some higher quality ones on the secondary side. The full report on the Corsair RM1000e can be found in the Cybenetics database, including parts analysis.
Now let’s take a look at the inside of the power supply, the components and PCBs:
