Efficiency Normal, Light & Super-Light Loads
The efficiency is high in all load ranges. The device reaches more than 70% even with a load of 2%.
Average Efficiency 5VSB
The 5VSB rail should be upgraded to achieve higher efficiency, especially at 230V.
Vampire Power
The power required by a power supply in standby mode is called vampire or phantom power because it is consumed without the power supply doing anything. This current is mostly lost via the 5VSB circuit of the power supply. The vamp power should be less than 0.1 W at 230 V.
Average efficiency
Compared to the Gold and Platinum devices, the Dark Power 13 is by far in the lead.
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
A power factor correction filter increases the power factor reduced by the distortion reactive power, because it reduces the proportion of disturbing harmonics and thus also the mains load. The APFC converter works quite well at 115 V, but at 230 V it needs to be optimized.
