Autodesk Inventor 2021 Pro and InvMark
InvMark covers almost all areas of Inventor with its comprehensive benchmark and is a really good gauge for system performance. Let’s first look at the total score for all CPUs. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is just under 1.2% behind the Ryzen 7 5800X here, mainly because of the larger CPU loads. That is peanuts, but it once again shows that the Ryzen 9 5900X, which is even cheaper in some cases, is usually the better alternative.
The fact that the Ryzen 7 5800X can win the single-thread performance over the X3D is certainly no surprise. Nevertheless, it is not a whole galaxy, but only a cosmic blink of an eye. Clock beats cache.
The multi-thread performance also goes to the Ryzen 7 5800X, although the X3D’s gap of 4.4 percentage points is rather tight. But this is already more than a measurement tolerance and is also due to the power budget, because the X3D also grabs over 10 watts less energy. Put in the right perspective, this is much more efficient, but not faster.
Individual benchmarks of the InvMark
Again, we divide into very different application scenarios. And we also see where the (few) advantages of the huge V-Cache come into play and where rather not.
