GPUs Reviews Watercooling

TechN TN GPU 2080 Ti – Catch shot for the place deer? A nearly perfect GPU water block 100% made in Germany | Exclusive test

Test run and temperatures

I reconnect the graphics card directly to the chiller, increase the power target to the maximum 380 watts, the core clock by 200 MHz and the voltage to the adjustable maximum. Then I start Witcher 3 on maximum details at 3840 x 2160 pixels (Ultra HD). The control measurement showed approx. 378 to 379 watts over the measured 30 minutes for the graphics card alone, the water temperature was as always constant 20 °C and the room temperature was 22 °C. This means that we now have the best conditions for later comparisons with other products.

At a GPU temperature of an average of 35 °C, I register under the socket on the back of the board approx. 36.6 °C, which is very good and is even sufficient for a top position among the coolers already tested. Depending on the positioning, the memory modules are warm between 36 °C and 41 °C, which is well located in the upper midfield. The voltage converters become warm to a maximum of 45 °C, which is also very far ahead and does not have to hide, on the contrary.

In a direct comparison of all the determined values of the coolers tested so far, the new water block from TechN makes a really good figure and actually shares 2nd place with the Heatkiller IV from Watercool. Only the Kryographics Next from Aqua Computer is a little better. In the normalized overall result, I deliberately doubled the GPU temperature, because it is especially important for achieving the maximum possible boost steps of the GPU.

In the gallery you will still find as usual the list of the individual results in °C and percent:

The first test was therefore well done and even Chiller with the very high flow rate the product is really daring. So it is once again a cooler of the category "I would be reluctant to expand again".

Summary and conclusion (with update)

I will pass on the final price (SRP) in a timely manner, because it will also depend somewhat on the distribution that has been planned so far at Caseking. However, TechN does not want to leave this product exclusively at Caseking, which should be quite appropriate to the price. Today's test has already confirmed the performance and the quality of the workmanship is beyond doubt. If something is produced as full copper and then anodized, then please do just like that.

It is a nice cooler that is solid as well as simple and also visually does not need any extra accents to prove itself. He can do it simply, point.

Update from 09.11.2019 10:30 a.m.: The cooler is listed at Caseking and will be listed there in a few days for approx. 169 Euros, the backplate will then be sold separately. It is obvious that the prices of EK have been oriented towards this, which is quite a sign of self-confidence.
