Sapphire RX Vega 56 Pulse in test – Hot battle dwarf with thick refrigerated tank

Summary

At first glance, the Sapphire RX Vega 56 Pulse looks like an RX Vega Nano, where you end up afraid of your own courage and then you donate a full-size plus cooler to block the evening sun. Micro board with thick jaws, but it works better so make big card with longer board and even fatter cooler. After all, this part does not weigh a whole kilo and still cools as if there was no tomorrow. At least within the framework of what AMD gives the chip as options and that Sapphire then deposited with reason in its own BIOS.

The Nitro with the over 1.6 kilos live weight was and is an overweight Valkyrie, so to speak the fight BBW among the graphics cards. In direct comparison, the Pulse is rather the chastening normal-measure model, but does not have to hide for this reason. There is no LED street lighting, otherwise it is more of a good food. I like it.

The beat and power consumption are exactly where you would have expected it, which means that the card positions itself exactly where you would like to see it in the game performance. Overclocking with the crowbar goes, but the fans then turn much higher and live with the acoustic consequences. Or you can really take a lot of time and find out the optimum for the individual sub-voltage. Of course, always with the risk that a new driver version or a Windows update will start everything from scratch. The WattMan alone is unfortunately current (still not) quite suitable for this.

Conclusion

Me approx. The card is still not the absolute financial revelation, but it is in stock and therefore well available. By the way, it looked very different a short time ago. So if you rely on AMD and don't let yourself be confused by the price, this card is classically well served. Hence the purchase tip, because the card as such is balanced and in principle error-free. This is not self-evident (unfortunately) and therefore at least really good news for all those who just have the coal left over and feel the urge to buy. So you can access…
