Practical test with three test subjects
The practical test was again carried out with three test subjects to cover as broad a spectrum as possible and to gather many impressions. Regarding the criteria, I had followed Igor’s test reports and because that had gone down well in the last chair review, I used them again here.
Summary Person 1 (1.59m/ 60kg)
“The adjustment options and space are good, but the backrest is too hard for me and the seat cushion is a bit too thin.”
Summary person 2 (1,83m/ 62kg)
“I like the chair very much overall. My office chair at work allows me to slide the seat back and forth. If the Rae had that feature as well, it would actually be perfect.”
Summary Person 3 (1.88m/ 123kg)
“For working and sitting for long periods of time, the Recaro is really top-notch and I would choose it over my other gaming chairs anytime. When lounging, however, the padding on the seat is a bit thin for my weight. However, that’s also the only point where I see the tubular steel construction of other chairs as having an advantage.”
The build quality is convincing and compared to usual gaming chairs, the Recaro looks very discreet and delicate without giving the impression that it cannot keep up in terms of stability.
Interim summary
All test subjects sat very well on the Rae and were able to adjust it optimally to their body size and preferred sitting position. All test persons also agreed that the back is very well supported, even or especially when sitting for longer periods of time. In principle, the tenor of all three test owners was very similar: The upholstery is pleasantly firm, but compresses unexpectedly quickly on the seating surface depending on the seating position. Interestingly, especially the feel of the fabric cover was very well received, which was not cold at any time even in cooler room temperatures now in winter and certainly should have advantages over (synthetic) leather in summery warm temperatures.
