The second card in today’s small MSRP roundup is the Palit RTX 4070 Dual 12 GB. For today’s launch day of the MSRP cards, we can of course only show the cards that also meet NVIDIA’s specifications and are offered at the MSRP of 659 Euros. Since the performance in games and applications is the same for all these 200 watt cards, you can of course skip this part for now. The real differences are in the technical details of the implementation, especially the circuit board and cooler. But you already know that.
Of course, this pushes up the time needed for such a review, so I will catch up on these things in detail in a later individual test. Today we first have the technical specifications, many pictures and a very first assessment. The rest is then worked through continuously and conscientiously over the following period. Of course, I also have a nice picture gallery for you, even though these were taken during the latetests at Fritz Hunter and not at my photo studio. Of course, I will do that as soon as the card arrives again.
First of all, there is no surprise in the technical specifications:
The power limit is also a done deal and can no longer be changed. 200 watts are set by default, more is not possible:
The first hands-on proves that Palit has also applied the dreaded red pencil. RGB? No one needs it and the treasurer doesn’t need it at all. So away with it. At just under 750 grams, the card is also nice and light, which certainly suits the motherboard. However, the ears will probably have to suffer a bit, because the card was not really inaudible in the first long-term use. Well, it’s not a real hurricane, but you can hear something. At least in the open structure. But it’s not a quadcopter either, so much for reassurance. Otherwise, palit has kept very closely to the reference PCB. With all the advantages and disadvantages.
However, I can assure you that nothing will burn down or even explode at Palit. And as I have already written several times: As a technician, you have a feeling for certain weak points that could easily have been avoided. But more about that in the near future. Today, the pictures will have to do for now.
