New drivers, new luck: the RX Vega 64 now behaves exactly as it should with the RX Vega56. This means that AMD's flagship even surpasses the GeForce GTX 1080 by hair's breadth. The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is now about 11% faster than AMD's RX Vega56 and is just behind the GTX 1080. This is a great performance for playback with 1440p and ultra-detail settings.
However, the jump to 3840 x 2160 pixels forces us to switch the quality back to high. But even then, the frame rate is not quite as smooth as we would like the course. However, the higher resolution allows the GTX 1070 Ti to catch up even with the Radeon RX Vega64 and beat the RX Vega56 by about 13%. In fact, only Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is really fast enough to deliver acceptable results in Ultra HD.
