You probably remember my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro headset, which simply destroyed itself in storage completely without use and which I had as article published last week. Being a sustainable person, I fixed the part today at my expense after having to wait a few days for the parts. The test will have to prove whether it was worth it – on my head and in the measuring station. Because I replaced the PU ear pads with sofa cushions. And today I can at least also catch up on the actually planned measurement for mechanical sounding. Because what makes this headset so interesting is the ability to customize the bass through mechanical sounding.
Interestingly, Beyerdynamic commented on Facebook in response to a reader’s post that they would gladly and carefully study the article and the associated forum entries on the page. But so far no one has contacted me, which would have really surprised me. After all, no one has even written a single line or picked up the phone in response to the PR inquiries of the last two years.
Delivered as ordered: Thanks to Thomann for the fast delivery, even if it cost a euro more. I buy there for years and have never been disappointed. Ok, once already, but the bumped electrostats were immediately exchanged for genuine new goods without any discussion. Even in chaos, true greatness shows, because there was a nice apology even without a request.
Unfortunately, the headbands are only available in this hideous PU leather, so that the next action is probably already pre-programmed for sure. But I don’t want to make a fuss, maybe the softener is more sedentary this time than the first time. As we all know, hope always dies last.
I really want to spare you the sight of the piles of crumbs, but this time I was smart enough to do it on an old gazette so I don’t mess up my table and carpet with the brittle particles again. What then remained was the naked earpiece, which I took this opportunity to clean with isopropanol.
The two wing chairs were quickly assembled, and so was the Velcro. So connected and tested: still running. Then I simply gave the good piece a few hours with good trance music. To warm up, so to speak. However, the cushions are not particularly strongly contoured, which could certainly be better. But you can’t have everything and when I find more time, I’ll play through a few imitation products that also fit on there.
Good, now we already know that everything is going as planned. But what does it actually sound like? Unfortunately, I could no longer measure the PU waste, otherwise I would have messed up the measuring station as well. But even so, something is already going on. On the next page!
