Conclusion
I will be careful not to claim that the Holy Pandas are the best switches of all time. But in fact, for me at least, they are the best tactile (non-clicky) switches I’ve ever had under my fingertips. What makes these switches so special is the unusual typing feel with the immediate resistance and late release – practically an “anti-MX speed”. The Holy Panda feels a bit like a very tight rubber dome keyboard that reacts identically with every click, and that’s not meant in a negative way at all! The typing feel is refreshingly different and allows me – as a fan of tactile switches – to type very accurately with fewer typing errors and practically no accidentally triggered keys.
Of course, typing feel and sound are once again a matter of taste and you can never please everyone at the same time. As mentioned above, as a frequent typist I really like tactile keys and this is where I see the Holy Panda (X) at home. As always, however, there are also a few disadvantages with this Switch. Firstly, I don’t think it’s suitable for gaming due to its late triggering, and secondly, the switches are very expensive at $45 per pack of 35 (so you need three packs = $135 plus $25 shipping!). You have to be a real custom keyboard nerd to make this investment “just to try it out”.
“The switches were provided by Corsair for this test. The only condition was compliance with the blocking period, there was no influence or remuneration.”
