Painting and mounting
After the primer dried, it was on to the paint. Painting was done with an acrylic lacquer from a spray can.
The master applied layer after layer with the patience of a saint, and I was really impressed with how evenly and virtually flawlessly he managed to do it.
No paint noses, no dust inclusions and that simply from the wrist with the cheap spray can from the hardware store. Skilful is skilful, there’s no other way to put it. The fact that you can still read the contours of the original Geforce RTX lettering is actually quite nice.
After everything had dried, the whole thing had to be reassembled, of course. The trim and the illuminated logo were removed with extreme caution before the paint job, in order to create a nice contrast later on.
Fan cleaned and (after three attempts) reassembled in the correct order. Looks like it was never any different, doesn’t it?
