Summary
The Samsung LF24T35 comes with still acceptable response times, which make gaming – without visible ghosting effects possible. The rather low refresh rate does not make the LF24T35 a suitable monitor for eSports by any means. There are better alternatives that can offer 144 Hz. In terms of latency, the LF24T35 wins the golden end of the food chain.
In terms of color, the monitor offers sRGB – with a good color accuracy ex-works. The IPS panel particularly stands out with a quite high contrast of up to 1400:1, which is rarely seen. Even very expensive IPS monitors tend to hover around 1000:1. The VGA almost belongs in a museum; a second HDMI or DisplayPort would have been desirable here.
Where it can score really well is in power consumption. A maximum of 23 watts at over 330 nits is almost ridiculous.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a good and above all inexpensive office or second monitor, you can buy this without hesitation. Likewise, the monitor can definitely be recommended for gaming for beginners or budget foxes. The picture quality is really convincing during gaming thanks to the good contrast. Single-player titles like LS 22, where latencies and motion clarity are not important, can be played well on the IPS panel.
The bottom line is that the Samsung LF24T35 can be a real value for money. Even if it only offers little in terms of ergonomics. You have to make compromises for only about 100 euros, and Samsung does that where it has to. The panel itself is good and that’s what matters.
The main findings of today’s article are:
- NVIDIA G-Sync also works via HDMI
- A 75 Hz monitor can technically never have an input lag of 0.9 ms.
- The Samsung LF24T35 is a usable monitor considering the price of only about 100 Euros.
Whatever the colleagues measured there, it was neither the total display lag and – after realistic consideration – certainly not the input lag. Thus, I ask the colleagues who make such claims to reconsider their statements. If possible, these statements should be correct or it should be clarified what they actually measured. Directly to the colleague from Hardwaredealz: I don’t bite and would be happy about a constructive exchange. To all readers, the article is not a call – now to go to a forum of his choice and make bad mood against Hardwaredealz. Please stay factual, thank you!
I’m done..
The monitor was bought by myself. There was no influence on the tests and results.
