Display latency
And now we come to the actual reason for my test. I wanted to dispel a myth. On the internet, especially on YT, there are videos where people say that this monitor has an input lag of only 0.9 ms. If you’re wondering how that works with a 75 Hz monitor? That’s exactly the question I wanted to get to the bottom of.
Hmm, how can that be? As you surely know, the display lag is divided into two parts. On the one hand there is the processing and on the other hand the so-called refresh lag (about half the time of a refresh). What the colleague measured there with his tool (0.9 ms “input lag”) was certainly only the processing.
Input-Lag
Whether one now, as I do, still puts the average pixel reaction time on the display lag, can be discussed. From my point of view, the entire Input-Lag – Processing Refresh-Lag avg. Response Time – should be defined this way, because in the end it is part of the latency chain. After all, we end up seeing an image in full color, not fields.
E2E Latency
Is the monitor now what eSports gaming? I would say no, but still quite usable for casual gamers.
