Today I’ll take a look at a monitor that is often recommended by YouTubers as a cheap entry-level gaming monitor. The monitor only costs about 110 Euros when new. I was able to buy the monitor for 75 euros (still with foil on it) almost new via classifieds. I myself don’t need the Samsung Full HD monitor – also known as F24T352FHR – for myself. It’s for a project.
A very helpful acquaintance should get a PC on which he can play LS 22. On the notebook from 2015 – without dedicated GPU is the MÄÄÄHHH. My acquaintance does not know anything about PCs. If you ask him what kind of laptop do you have, he says a black one. Difficult conditions when it comes to telephone support. The PC project is still going on and my inventory is totally maxed out. I’m still looking for components:
Equipment so far:
Monitor
GPU (RX 590)
CPU cooler
Mouse and keyboard
Mouse pad
Headset
Wanted:
Ryzen 5 3600/5600
B450/B550 motherboard
Power supply 500 Watt
Ram 3200/3600
Case ATX
So if you have something left – or cheap to give away, you can contact me in the forum via PN. I would be glad! Back to the monitor…
The 1920 x 1080p IPS panel is from Samsung Displays. I’m assuming an RGB subpixel layout based on the good text display. To what extent the 8 bit color depth – real 8 bits are – or yet only 6 bit FRC, I can unfortunately not say. From my point of view it is completely unimportant. The price for the monitor was a real bargain, so you don’t have to be so picky.
What is important is that the monitor is advertised with a very low input lag of only 0.9 ms according to some hardware youtubers – e.g. click here. We will see later today that this can’t be the case. Mythbusting is the order of the day.
Why I will still go into detail is obvious. I think that there are some readers who might be looking for a second monitor, or just a cheap monitor on which you can still gamble. We’ll find out later today what the Samsung IPS monitor has hidden behind its panel.
The specs
We don’t have to say much more than that. You can find everything else on Samsung’s homepage. Click here!
Or you can have a look at the next page.
