AMD unlocks OC for Ryzen 7000X3D or is this just another bug? AMD’s product pages can be quite misleading in parts. Earlier this month, the Ryzen 7000X3D pages already made headlines when AMD updated them with a February 14 launch date, only to later confirm that this was a mistake. Even a few weeks later, we still don’t know when exactly AMD plans to launch these CPUs, but the product pages are still being updated.
AMD has just listed the Ryzen 7000X3D with overclocking support. All three upcoming SKUs are presumably with “Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes”. This usually means that the CPU supports base clock overclocking, just like the rest of the Ryzen 7000 series.

AMD has so far only confirmed that the Precision Boost Overdrive technology will support automatic overclocking. In addition, the 7000X3D series is said to support the Curve Optimizer. These features, which will undoubtedly improve the fine-tuning of the 7000X3D series, have not been enabled on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with Zen3 3D V-Cache technology. Since at no point did the company mention direct overclocking support for the Ryzen 7000X3D, this update to the product page is most likely another mistake. The Ryzen 7000X3D series is officially scheduled to launch in February, but AMD has yet to confirm pricing and the exact launch date. With so many bugs before launch, it’s probably better sooner than later.
