It had become increasingly clear that the portfolio of Renoir CPUs could look quite different in the end. Here, too, the “refresh” APUs are to be introduced immediately and not the previously circulated models. The only downer for all the HTPC and office enthusiasts who wanted a powerful CPU with relatively fast integrated graphics: AMD will probably just “laugh” these APUs with the new Ryzens in the shade without much hype.
Interestingly, the focus is also more on the Pro models, whose BIOS entries are much more extensive than those of the non-Pro models, especially since the latter do not indicate a refresh from the nomenclature and may even be omitted completely. That would also be a pity, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility to prevent cannibalization of the normal CPU portfolio by excessively powerful APUs.
