Useful ARGB case fans for under 10 euros? The container is still on its way to Germany, but we already took the liberty of testing the Raijintek AGERAS 12 ARGB in detail today. The fans will be available soon in white and black for an MSRP of 9.79 Euros and without RGB for 7.99 Euros. And because the surcharge for the festive lighting is so low, we have already tested the colorful specimen in advance, because we (as well as the supplier) assume that the vast majority of buyers will choose the Christmas tree. For the unlit variant, there is already the Arctic P12 PWM as a counterpart on the market, but that will be very tight. Also and especially with the price.

The spec sheet reads unspectacular. With a self-determined 122 grams, the Raijintek fan is in the midfield and the manufacturer specifies the thickness (installation depth) with the usual 25 mm, which is even correct. You have to know that to be really sure. Often, the thickness is somewhat fiddled with and sometimes one or two millimeters are added without any indication. The bearing is a standard hydrodynamic plain bearing with all the known advantages and disadvantages, but with gratifyingly little play. Yes, and colorful is also possible, especially since Raijintek relies on common preci-dip connectors that can also be cascaded quite easily. Since there are also 2-packs and 3-packs, that makes sense, of course.

The maximum gap of 1.3 mm between the rotor and frame is very good and the surface finish is definitely not objectionable. The fairly neutral white is okay and it is neither too cold nor too yellowish.

And as just described, it also goes nice and colorful, at least within the fair price of just under 10 euros. The following pre-Christmas gallery shows a small foretaste of how the illuminated hub and the five translucent rotor blades look in terms of color.

The decoupling of the frame is done by glued rubber applications on the four corners. It works, but it’s not really that innovative. By the way, the usual 4 screws for the case are also included, there is nothing more. Well, you don’t need more either, only with the multiple packages you still get matching adapters for the purchased number of fans.

As an example for the rest of the family, I’ll now show you the spec sheet for the white model, which also applies to the two black variants in the same form, although one of them does without ARGB, but is otherwise virtually identical in construction.

On the next page you will first see how and what we test and why. Understanding the details is incredibly important in order to be able to objectively classify the results later. The differences between many models are more in the details and the best fan for all situations can hardly exist. There is a certain optimum in every situation and, of course, good all-rounders. But they usually have their price. However, if you are planning very specifically with 60 mm radiators, for example, you might be able to save money by choosing the best model for your intended use, which might not perform so well as a case fan. And vice versa, of course.
