CES: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Super in the wild: photographed, weighed and measured

Today, an hour before midnight, I was able to free the GeForce RTX 4070 Super-Susi from its outer packaging in advance and with great publicity. The timing is, of course, reserved for my US colleagues, but a little hardware striptease at this time of night can never hurt, even if I don’t really like such unboxing events. But since half of the YouTube bubble seems to be in hyperventilation mode, there are at least a few pictures and data from me that don’t violate the NDA. And someone will still be awake now. Or you’ll notice it on Tuesday morning over your morning coffee…

What weighs 1021 grams and is 24.5 cm long? That’s right, the RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition (FE)! Now the younger sister has to wear the clothes of the older non-SUPER, but father Jensen has at least added a jet-black coloring tablet and a few more computing cores to make it less noticeable. The Super label is also black this time, so it would almost be a gloomy affair if this card didn’t shine the biggest upgrade light on the SUPER-Susis.

Of course, the new old 12V6x2 connector, our beloved and fiery 12VHPWR header with the fully integrated fire salve in the form of recessed sideband and extended power contacts, should not be missing. However, with a wattage of 220 watts or 240 watts for the OC models, the narrow-gauge connection should be safe and sufficient. So you can sit back and relax.

And what else? Personally, I consider this card to be the most interesting offering in the SUPER family, also due to the relatively inexpensive increase in performance, although the other two cards could also be a clear signal to AMD to move up a little in price. Because the RTX 4070 Super Duper simply has no competition in the targeted price range. Faster and only slightly more expensive than a Radeon RX 7800XT and slightly slower when rasterizing but significantly cheaper than an RX 7900XT. AMD is missing an RX 7900 without anything for the German market.

Be that as it may, soon we’ll all be smarter. So will you. We’re not allowed to write any more at the moment without the big NDA club being swung. But a bit of excitement and the accompanying arc won’t do any harm. And so that it doesn’t get quite so boring until then, I’ve also got everything that’s allowed for you to browse through:
