GDC 2023 – NVIDIA DLSS 3 accelerates the "neural graphics" PC gaming revolution

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) kicks off next week and NVIDIA is announcing an expanded game list and new developer plug-ins for NVIDIA-DLSS-3, the latest version of its AI-powered Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology. NVIDIA is also announcing a new RTX bundle that includes Redfall from Bethesda.

Since its introduction in 2018, NVIDIA DLSS has helped drive a neural graphics revolution in PC gaming. Neural Graphics links AI and graphics to create an accelerated graphics rendering pipeline that learns from data. DLSS leverages AI and GeForce RTX™ tensor cores to increase frame rates while delivering crisp, high-quality images that rival native resolution.

DLSS 3 is now supported by a number of blockbuster games and franchises, with more to come: the technology is being integrated into one of the world's most popular game engines, Unreal Engine 5.2, and the company is releasing the DLSS Frame Generation Plug-in to help developers adopt the technology.

The list of DLSS PC games for GDC 23 includes the addition of NVIDIA DLSS to Deceive Inc,diablo IV, Forza Horizon 5, Gripper, Redfall, SMALLAND: Survive the Wilds, and THE FINALS. Since release, over 270 games and applications already support NVIDIA DLSS, the AI-powered performance accelerator. DLSS Frame Generation, the latest version of the technology, is available in 28 published games and was implemented seven times faster than DLSS 2 in the first six months.

Also tomorrow, NVIDIA will give the starting signal for the Redfall Bite Back Edition GeForce RTX 40 Series bundle.

On 2.May 2023, the digtal version of Redfall Bite Back Edition will be released, at participating partners you will receive a free version of the game with the purchase of select GeForce RTX-4070-Ti, -4080 and -4090 GPUs, desktop PCs or GeForce RTX-4080 and -4090 laptop GPUs.

Bethesda's new game Redfall is an open-world and co-op FPS from Arkane Austin, the award-winning team behind Prey and Dishonored. In Redfall, the island city is besieged by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut off the citizens from the outside world. By exploring the open world, you can team up with a handful of survivors against the creatures that threaten to bleed the city dry. By immersing yourself in a deep story campaign, you'll be able to unravel the mystery behind the emergence of the vampires.
