MSI, as a motherboard manufacturer, has recently released the latest AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS firmware for its AM5 motherboards. This new firmware enables some important improvements for the AM5 platform, including support for high-speed DDR5 frequencies, which were not possible before. Several memory OC records have already been set with DDR5-9000 MT/s in recent weeks, and more records are expected to follow. The release of this new BIOS promises promising prospects for MSI’s AM5 mainboards.
The fresh BIOS is based on the latest AMD AGESA firmware 1.0.0.7c (Patch C). The MSI MEG X670E ACE is among the first motherboards to benefit from this BIOS version. Users can download the BIOS via a specific link. The update is verified by the SMU Checker and shows that it is the latest AMD Patch C.
Although official details are still pending, it is reported that the new AMD AGESA firmware will further improve support for DDR5 DRAM. According to information from a leaker named Chi11eddog, the new BIOS firmware is expected to fix boot issues that occurred when using certain DRAM modules from specific manufacturers.

There is no published list of these DRAM modules or kits yet. However, it is easy to determine if a memory kit that previously did not work with the existing AMD Patch B will now run without problems with the newer Patch C. The SMU remains unchanged, and the Patch C BIOS should continue to provide preliminary support for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000 APU series, which has been present since the old Patch A and Patch B.
