Of course, you can argue about the sense or nonsense of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti as such, but the board manufacturers just have to go through with it now. MSI’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio is a cooling hulk with a cooler that apparently weighs more than all memory modules of this series in one pile. So it’s not up to MSI, and those who can get away with the 8GB will get an inaudible cooling monster with RGB and a nice graphics card stand.
Those familiar with the MSI RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio will also know where the cooler comes from. And yes, the key specs read almost martial as well. With a length of 33.5 cm and an installation height of 13.5 cm, no eye is left dry. The installation depth is a true 2.5 slot design with 4 cm and 0.8 cm for the backplate. And 1158 grams then press down on the graphics card stand, so not really little either.
MSI uses a single 8-pin connector, which is certainly sufficient considering the tiny chip. RGB abounds and the design language of the cooler cover is not new, but follows MSI’s Gaming X series model design. There’s a nice, solid alloy backplate as well. If it weren’t for the stingy memory lapse, the card would certainly be a blast as a mainstream end product. Whereby the necessary price puts more question marks than exclamation points. Selling premium in this class will probably be rather difficult.
And what else? MSI releases up to 195 watts here, but who should pour so much oil on a lamp that can’t burn more than 175 watts anyway without getting voltage-limited gasps? It looks good, it’s allowed, but it’s of no use anyway.
As always, the GPU-Z screenshot shows us the rest of the data and what else works (or not) with the card will have to be shown in a single test.
