The AXE6600 in detail including technical data
The router relies on a fast quad-core processor from Qualcomm and proven technology inside. Four of the total of six antennas are reserved for the 6 GHz band, and one each operates in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The 1.8 GHz processor is located in the center, which positively influences the board’s layout.
Cooling has also been elevated to a marketing feature, although this does make deeper sense. My own Fritz!Box 7590 was thermally flat after 30 minutes of excessive FTP traffic in Gigabit Internet, so even I had to install a case fan. It doesn’t look pretty, but it was practical. A first counter test with the RadiX AXE6600 showed that they didn’t promise too much here, at least in terms of cooling. Whether you think graphene coatings are great or not – as long as it does what it’s supposed to, it’s fine.
The app that goes with the router is quite usable in English, but it is a matter of taste. Unfortunately, a German version with all functions is not (yet) available. The child protection filter, on the other hand, is really practical, because it does not protect against children (which would have been quite practical as well), but protects children from unwanted content. If we look at the ports on the back, we find a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, but it can also be used as a LAN port. The remaining four 1 Gbps sockets are de facto a switch, although you can also use one input as a WAN here to connect the cable modem, for example. This leaves three 1 Gbps ports and one 2.5 Gbps port for the LAN. So it doesn’t always have to be the WLAN, but also. In fact, the quota planner also includes the LAN.
You can find the complete overview in the data sheet, I don’t have to write it down:

Unboxing and commissioning
The router is nicely and sturdily packaged, but the box is larger than the contents end up being. But no matter, one takes some Asian air as a benefit but gladly free of charge. For the winner, however, I have to note that he gets Chemnitz air, since I had already unpacked the router. But that doesn’t matter, it’s nice here too.
The scope of delivery is manageable, because there is a power cord and a short Ethernet cable in addition to the router, but that’s it. The antennas are pre-assembled. So you don’t have to put anything together.
If you are looking for more impressions of the router: Here would be a small picture gallery
And with that, I finally get to the community raffle. Turn the page once more and you’ll be there!
