Today we’re going to look at another really small system, this time from the manufacturer Minisforum. It is advertised with easy access to the components, quiet operation as well as diverse connection options. Whether these promises are kept and how the UM340 performs in the rest of the tests can be read in the following article:
Packaging and scope of delivery
The box is kept rather plain overall, only the product series is mentioned on the front and a honeycomb pattern adorns the lower area. On the side, the contents have been listed.
Things get more interesting on the back, where a table provides information about the exact specifications of this model.
Barely opened, we are met by the system itself, which is protected by a thick layer of firm foam during transport. A short instruction is also included. Before we get to the real star of the show, let’s take a look at the included accessories.
There we have a display port as well as HDMI cable, VESA mount for mounting behind the monitor and the power supply. The exact model is YHY 19003000 and is specified at 19V at a maximum of 3 amps.
Minisforum states the system can be configured for a maximum power draw of 65 watts by increasing the cTDP of the CPU, but they do not recommend doing so. Since the included power brick is rated for 57 watts (19 Volt @ 3 Ampere), this seems a bit far-fetched anyway. By default a cTDP of 25 watts is configured, more on that later.
Specifications
Here is a short overview of the details, everything else can be found on the product page of the manufacturer. Since the UM340’s release, there has also been a change regarding the LAN port: Instead of two Ethernet ports with 1 Gigabit each, a 2.5 Gigabit port is now installed.
