CPU Latest news

Intel’s 40-core CPU Arrow Lake is rumored to be on the brink – and might not appear until 2025

If it comes at all, because the latest from the rumor mill on Twitter is that Intel probably has problems with the processor and might even have abandoned it already.

It remains questionable whether Intel will succeed in taking the lead in future Arrow Lake CPUs with a 40-core flagship. There were previously rumors about a 40-core chip that theoretically combines 8 powerful cores with 32 efficient cores. It was reported that this chip was cancelled, but it was later revealed that it is again being planned. According to the latest information from Raichu, a well-known hardware leaker on Twitter, Intel actually confirms the plans for this impressive 40-core 15th generation processor. It seems that Intel is sticking to the development of this powerful chip, but it is always advisable to consult Intel’s official announcements or reliable sources for the latest updates.

According to Raichu’s information, there are doubts whether Intel will be able to produce a 40-core processor. However, if Intel successfully implements this impressive chip project, it is expected to hit the market a year after the launch of Arrow Lake. This is because Arrow Lake is planned to be launched in 2024, which would mean that the 40-core processor would not be available until 2025. This would mean a relatively long waiting period. However, it is important to note that the development of the 40-core processor is still underway and its realization is by no means guaranteed.

Earlier reports about the 40-core processor came from YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, who mentioned that Intel may be considering the project again, but at the same time warned that it could still be shelved. Given the conflicting information between Moore’s Law is Dead and the current Raichu rumors, it is uncertain if we will even see this product. There is also the possibility that Intel could offer a flagship 8 16 processor (performance/efficiency) instead.

In the event of an actual launch of the 40-core processor in 2025, rumors suggest that other developments could follow in 2026, including Beast Lake. This processor is speculated to be a desktop processor with hybrid technology and 10 performance cores. As with all rumors, it is important to take them with a grain of salt, as plans and developments in the tech industry can change quickly.

Ein derartiger 40 (8P + 32E) Kerner würde (aus meiner Sicht, mehr nicht) doch eher Sinn in einem Server oder einer Workstation machen.
