Sharkoon Skiller SGS3 Gaming Seat in review: Twisted or for seat edisin?

Almost 300 euros is already a lot of wood foam, no question. But quality seating has always been at a price. This starts with the ergonomically highly bred seating furniture at the grey-melted chief secretary with dutt and ends ... Let's unpack the Boliden once and start assembing in the next chapter. Ergonomics and seat test

We tested the armchair with a total of three people. While the male adolescent (16 years, 1.75 m tall and 56 kilos) and woman (37 years, 1.70 m tall, 67 kg heavy) who coped well with the seat in all positions, the test was initially somewhat arduous for the author (53 years, 1.80 m tall, 105 kilos heavy). We will now go into this in detail and have summarized the individual tests in a table for the sake of a better overview.

The user should therefore not be clearly over 1.80 m tall (neck cushion a little deep) and, if possible, should not be shaped too baroque in the thigh and buttocks area. Otherwise, you get up with the chair after sitting. The backrest can only be firmly locked in the desired position, but an active back support for multi-writers is sought in vain. In this respect, the backrest cannot be set steeply enough, a little more forward would certainly have been good.

The Lordose pillow, on the other hand, is a tick too thick, a pity. The rocking mechanism can be adjusted in hardness, depending on the weight, but is suitable with persons from approx. 90 kg probably already arrived at the end of the optimum.

Material and workmanship

Light and shadow are often close together, where the light shines a little more clearly. Only the somewhat careless surface treatment in the base could be criticized. The aluminium foot cross is solid and torsion-proof, the rollers with the stoppers make a solid impression. Unfortunately, you have to make compromises or use a base for hard surfaces. Otherwise it scratches enormously.

The overall structure, including mechanics, seems reasonable to the price, the gas spring is not an exotic component, but often used standard goods. The imitation leather makes a solid impression, even if it is a homogeneous surface without back ventilation. This should also cause sweat spots in summer at high temperatures.

The seams are clean and neat at first and second glance. At least Sharkoon did not copy the diamond stitch of other manufacturers, but left it at the most necessary. Sometimes less is more and better than the bad copying of known designs.

Summary and conclusion

Just another gaming chair? Yes and no. The Sharkoon Skiller SGS3 is similar to many of the offerings in this price segment, but thanks to the detectable reels, it has five truly stopping arguments for a secure hold. We have not been able to find any real weaknesses, except for the slightly too narrow seat troughs. In the end, this also narrowly prevents a full purchase tip. But the rest fits.

The conclusion is therefore overwhelmingly positive and we would also consider the price to be reasonable. A good swivel chair for the office is also hardly cheaper, but usually even more expensive. But then it is also ergonomically blessed with more bandwidth. You get what you paid for? That's exactly what it's all about, and that's how you can live well as a manufacturer and customer in this price range.
