Sure, this card is probably more of a one-off, but whoever has the this card doesn’t have to worry about the junk like that. And since you can’t reliably get temperatures displayed on the GDDR6 on AMD cards, you’re left wondering why the card isn’t performing what it could. With the crumbly pads from Ziitek PowerColor has done everything right, because there are certainly no oil sardines like in the last report about MSI and the GDDR6X. Well, what does right mean, something has probably been forgotten.
By the way, the picture rather unintentionally shows that the coolers are supplied by the cooler OEM (supplier) already with assembled pads. A circumstance that makes it almost impossible for companies like MSI to change pads so easily during production. Because the coolers are already in stock in quantities and to replace a pad you would have to remove the old one, clean the surface and then put the new one back on to fit. This costs time and also space, which is hard to find in the strictly optimised cycle lines.
With this I’ll let you off into the weekend and I’d like to explicitly thank the nice reader who made me happy with this pearl of asian serenity. If you also have such or similarly wacky things as picture material, please feel free to send it to me. The mail address is in the imprint. 🙂
