Gaming GPUs Reviews

Far Cry New Dawn – All so beautiful purple here (and 25 graphics cards in quick run) | igorsLAB

Well, when choosing the colour I should probably hold the flap, glass house and so on. But in the end, Far Cry New Dawn is a little more than a full-time DLC for Far Cry 5 at full price for full-time. Sure, it's Far Cry 5 in different and a lot of assets have also been recycled. But as a game it has its completely own character and also the somewhat dusty engine has experienced some polish again. I test this today with 25 graphics cards in quick run.

Make a purple break!

Yes, you also have to gamble the game a little bit to get a feel for the big picture. There are mutated cattle and above all the ubiquitous purple color dominance already a little badly accustomed. One more reason to advocate disarmament, so that one does not have to see such color derailments in the first place. Unless you're on visual substitute drugs. Ok, other story. In the end, everything is as usual and in the dark it also makes visually no more sparrows.

Outposts, rattlesnakes, floats and planes – Ubisoft has the full range at the start again in Far Cry New Dawn. And whether it's two sisters in Far Cry New Dawn or a banged-up brother Joseph from Far Cry 5, that doesn't make any difference. And that's a good thing. It's all like in Far Cry 5, well, almost. I've noticed that AI has gotten better. This cannot be dismissed out of hand. But it is also indisputable in places when the playing strength has been maximized. No one can explain to me why an exact head shot from 2 to 3 meters is not equally lethal, even if the changeover to an RPG system always contains such uncertainties. Then you quickly lose your desire or take the takedown again.

No, I don't want to spoil the story. But some of the quests are much better and more challenging than in Far Cry 5. There is game fun pre-programmed. And the game deserved more attention, but it has clearly sunk in the whole hustle and bustle around Metro Exodus. Wrongly set release date, I would think. I would have knocked the butt so purple that he would have fit the game.

But the game is completely different for that and the system requirements can also be left standing. Well, it's generally RTX Off, but you've completely forgotten that after 5 minutes at the latest. A kind of anti-metro with coloured buckets, that also has its charm.

The following graphic also shows that the view can also be significantly mitigated. And at night all cats are grey anyway. Who stands on the Far-Cry-series and has nothing else against climbing inserts – it is (again) done. Delicious purple wobble pudding for the end-time gamer of the more cozy kind. But you shouldn't take it too literally. But it's entertaining and that's what matters at the end of the day. Nothing groundbreaking, then, but solidly solved. Thumbs up.

And otherwise? I wrote it that it's definitely not an old-school hardware eater. This is still largely painless on many older systems. A point that could also tempt you to buy:

Test system and measurement methods

We have already described the new test system and the methodology in detail in the basic article "How We Test Graphics Cards, as of February 2017" and therefore refer to this detailed basis for simplicity. Description. So if you want to read everything again, you are welcome to do so. However, we have again improved CPU and cooling to largely exclude possible CPU bottlenecks for this fast card.
