The settings I have largely left as recommended by Ubisoft, only that with the FPS limit was (and is probably) still a bit buggy. To do this, I have to limit that I had to test Ultra HD with a version before the Day One patch. However, a counter-test has shown that nothing changes in the performance even then. However, it is now almost impossible to bypass the automatic FPS limit, which is oriented towards the connected monitor.
Since I could turn off after the patch what I wanted (VSync, limiter), it didn't go higher. This also explains why I had to switch to a 144 Hz model. But here, too, the average is 143 FPS. That's annoying at first, but not even nonsensical in the end. No one needs tearing anyway. Only for benchmarks it is just unsightly, but the tester is not the target group.
In Full HD, the game runs in the high settings even on a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, which becomes even faster if you set the settings completely to average values. Then this card also cracks the 50 FPS mark, amazingly. However, everything will be more or less within the limit of the monitor from an RTX 2060 upwards.
In QHD everything is still playable, even if only the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is still briefly limited. Since we don't play a real first-person shooter here, even a Radeon RX 480 or a Radeon RX 480. RX 570 good food, but underneath it gets a bit tough. The GTX 1050 Ti strokes the sails and, as with the GTX 960, no lowering of the settings will help. Sure, it's running, but not really round.
In Ultra-HD, it is located below a Radeon RX Vega 64 or the GeForce GTX 1080 is already very tight and viscous. why the Radeon RX Vega56 falls off the RX Vega64 in this way, no idea.
In general, the AMD cards perform relatively well and the Radeon VII cracks the GeForce RTX 2080 in all three resolutions, albeit only narrowly. But it usually offers the better frametimes, but this is unlikely to be the memory.
Summary and conclusion
Old and proven, freshly bidoxt and provided with a fat purple eyeliner. Thus Far Cry New Dawn can score well despite the recycling feeling and, unlike Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, can also go through as a more or independent part, even if it often looks like a monster DLC. But in the end I can gain something like a self-reliance from the part, only that with the hits and the way of balancing you have to improve a little bit. But gifted.
The hardware won't get a lot of sweat, which could certainly appeal to a wider buyer base. And it's the complete contrast to Metro Exodus. Technically solid and visually handsome, Far Cry New Dawn is also, especially the vegetation. And the nasty purple… In the meantime, I have become accustomed to our colours here in the company. You really endure and survive more than you want to realize. In this sense: you can (and should) play.
If you want to see all this again as a speech with image and sound, I have already prepared something:
