ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX reaches record GPU frequency of 3.94 GHz

ASUS has set a new world record with its upcoming GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX by overclocking the graphics card to an impressive GPU clock of 3.94 GHz. The GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX was unveiled during Computex 2023 and is the top-of-the-line NVIDIA GPU from ASUS. The graphics card features an advanced AIO liquid cooler with TIM liquid application and promises the highest GPU boost clock of any RTX 4090 custom card currently available.

To further showcase the impressive technical performance of ASUS’ GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX, the graphics card was sent to American overclocker SPLAVE. The latter used the chip in the GPUPI v3.3 (32 billion) benchmark using an LN2 pot to test the limits. Thanks to this exotic cooling and some optimizations, the graphics card was able to achieve incredible frequency values. At the end of the test, the ASUS ROG MATRIX GeForce RTX 4090 achieved a world record frequency of 3945 MHz or 3.94 GHz – just a few MHz away from the impressive 4 GHz mark. The previous world record for GPU clock was beaten by the Colorful GeForce RTX 4090 iGame LAB Edition, which also used LN2 cooling. This particular graphics card achieved an amazing core clock of 3930 MHz. The ASUS version only slightly surpasses this record by 15 MHz. It seems that the GeForce RTX 4090 has reached its maximum clock level, but the hope remains that it might be able to reach the 4 GHz mark. If not, we’ll probably have to wait for the NVIDIA GeForce TX 4090 Ti, which is expected to feature an upgraded version of the AD102 silicon. This could potentially allow it to reach an impressive clock speed of 4 GHz or more. Currently, ASUS has not yet launched this graphics card, but it is expected to be available in the coming months – albeit in limited quantities and at a higher price.
