MSI releases a comprehensive firmware update for its QD-OLED gaming monitors MPG 271QRX QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED, which brings numerous new features, bug fixes and optimizations.
Improved user-friendliness and flexibility:
One of the most important new features is the implementation of a DSC switch in the OSD menu. This allows users to enable or disable Display Stream Compression (DSC) to customize picture quality and bandwidth usage. Furthermore, an HDMI PC/Console switch has been added to the OSD for the MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, allowing users to select their preferred resolution regardless of the source device. In addition, the MPG 321URX QD-OLED now offers the option to choose between 24.5″ and 27″ screen sizes in the OSD to customize the size of the virtual screen to personal preference.
Optimized picture quality and HDR experience
MSI has also optimized the color reproduction in HDR mode to ensure a more accurate and uniform display of colors. In addition, a problem with color space clamping that could occur when HDR was enabled has been fixed. HDR modes now also save separate presentation mode settings to preserve individual customizations.
Other improvements and bug fixes:
The firmware update also fixes various language issues and image flickering when VRR is enabled. Users can now switch off the power LED in the OSD and the input delay and latency have been optimized. Furthermore, a problem with white lines at 2560×1440@360Hz (MPG 271QRX QD-OLED only) and a display error (dark screen) after switching VRR have been fixed. Finally, the behavior of the panel protection has been optimized.
