An entry on AMD’s website has quietly listed two new APUs that have not yet been officially announced by the company. These are based on the Zen 3 architecture and are positioned in the Ryzen 5 series.
Accordingly, the APUs are the AMD Ryzen 5 7235HS, which has a 4-core and 8-thread configuration and offers a base clock of 3.2 GHz. Overclocking is possible up to 4.2 GHz. However, it is important to note that the new APU is not enabled for potential overvolting. This means that it is not possible to supply a higher voltage than the specified one.
Secondly, the AMD Ryzen 5 7235H is listed, which is based on the same architecture, i.e. Zen 3. In principle, you can expect the same technical data as with the AMD Ryzen 5 7235HS version. You get an APU with 4 cores and 8 threads, which offers a base clock of 3.2 GHz. Overclocking is also possible up to 4.2 GHz. The standard TDP is 45 W.
The two new APUs can be used for desktop PCs, but also for laptops. Interestingly, the chips hardly differ from each other in terms of technical data. It is not possible to estimate the extent to which AMD is utilizing leftovers here, but it can be assumed that they are more likely to be targeting the market for ready-made and office PCs.
AMD has not yet commented on its products. However, we can expect such an announcement from the company in the near future. It is also not known what price segment the two APUs will be in. However, it is likely to be in the mid-range of the Ryzen 5 series and AMD has therefore probably already planned a fixed positioning for the two APUs. However, we know that this is a global market launch and that customers all over the world can look forward to these new chips. It remains to be seen what will happen in the near future.
