I’ve had the Corsair Hydro X Series iCUE XH305i RGB Pro in black in the works for a while now, and today I can finally present you with the first part of the long-awaited review. The second part will then be about a complete build with all components from this custom loop kit. Speaking of shooting: Then, of course, there is the usual video to go with the text, in addition to the workvlog. A little exercise never hurts. But back to today and here, because I took a very thorough look at the kit.
Corsair decided to bring not only individual parts, but also a complete custom loop kit to the market. This is only logical, since the company has already been quite successful on the market with the individual components for quite a while and has already been able to nibble away a fair share of the big cakes. There are a total of 3 versions of the kit, which start at 519.90 Euros MSRP and go up to a proud 1099.90 Euros MSRP. However, we test the version for a somewhat more moderate 619.90 Euros RRP today. We will now find out whether this proud-looking price is justified. And yes, you should already be a little talented with your hands. Well, a little bit. Because it’s also about bending (not breaking).
Scope of delivery and packaging
First of all, let’s take a look at the packaging. Corsair has colorfully printed the packaging and already pictured the contents like a serving suggestion (picture above). On the front you can see the highlights of the kit. On the back, we then get the complete listing of the remaining components. I personally like the style and presentation of the packaging quite well and everything is very clearly designed until then. The typical eye-catcher, and for the price, it goes without saying.
What do we now get for our money? The set includes the XC7 RGB PRO CPU block with LGA1700 and AM4 mount, the XD5 RGB as a pump-reservoir combo in the D5 version, an XR5 360 copper radiator, a 3-pack QL120 RGB including the matching controllers (ICUE Commander PRO), eight fittings for 14 mm hard tubes, two 90° rotary elbows, six hard tubes in 10/14, a liter of clear coolant and even a complete bending tool with saw, deburrer, bending tool, rubber sausage, a small vice and a filling bottle.
All components are individually packaged and form-fittingly stowed in the Large Box. Thus, all parts are well protected against shock and damage. All in all, you get an all-round carefree package here and if you still want to integrate your graphics card into the circuit, then that’s no problem in the end, since enough connections are included to realize a simple custom loop. But before I go into detail, I also have the specs for you, because order is a must:
