My conclusion
What a great game! I always approach such hyped games with rather subdued expectations, but here the developers have met exactly my taste. The whole scenario is relatively unconsumed and the staging is very successful. When I think about it, I can hardly get out of the swarm, because I also liked the dubbing and the orchestral soundtrack. Particularly noteworthy, however, is the way in which the feelings of the protagonists are conveyed. The little boy who doesn't understand why dead people and animals are piled up everywhere or why everyone is behind him. The girl who suddenly is forced to take care of a child and inadvertently kills a human being for the first time in self-defence. The losses and ordeals that no innocent child deserves. All of this is conveyed in this game very credibly and poignantly.
The AI is not the smartest, some game mechanics are a bit bulky, the gameplay is rather trivial and with 12-14 hours of playing time it is not the most extensive work. But it is precisely this "flow" created by the catchy gameplay that makes A Plage Tale: Innocence an intense story-quickie, which can be unreservedly recommended to friends of atmospherically densely staged sneaky games.
