Who hasn’t experienced this, one year after purchase, you take a first look at the condition of the battery and believe that everything is in perfect order. Fiddlesticks! Even though the current iPhone 14 is in the headlines because of its battery, today’s example within the family shows that excessive use of things like YouTube (music) and the associated high operating temperatures can also kill the battery with relish. My iPhone is even 6 months older than its counterpart, which is 1.5 years old. However, I rather use Tidal and TuneIn for music and YouTube only on the PC. The rest is communication via voice or chat. And of course mails.
The charging behavior is almost identical on both iPhones, by the way, because you don’t charge only when it’s below 20ällt and then not again to 100ndanschlag. That’s how much knowledge I’ve tried to impart in the family. And now comes the big but: even an iPhone 13 Pro Max has thermal problems when it is wantonly misused and then only charges up to 80% for safety reasons. Besides, I use my smartphone mainly for communication and management, but not just for pleasure. You can see that in the daily usage time, which could not be more different. The other smartphone noodles music almost all day long, gets quite warm in its silicone body suit, and in the breaks we surf around heavily in the social networks, including videos. But see for yourself:
You can already tell, battery usage is up to three times higher on the left. My smartphone lasts at least two days on one charge, the other at most one day. Mine is half a year older, but still has only 50 is 60 er charging cycles of the stressed iPhone. And it remains significantly cooler in operation, despite many uses with CarPlay. Protective cover must be, but for that I have a metal frame including thin Gorilla glass on the back and no fat rubber skin.

The result is actually a textbook example of how smartphones suffer miserably from their owners consuming too much multimedia content or browsing social media. My workhorse is still doing just fine in terms of battery, as 98% capacity after 1.5 years is quite respectable. The 86 er YouTube machine, on the other hand, is not something you could really enjoy after just under a year. Because the degradation will rather accelerate, as I speak from experience.
I can only advise everyone to look at the temperatures of the smartphone and replace such colorful silicone bulges with thermally better solutions. Then the battery will surely work again. And please do not charge the battery and suck on it excessively with videos. These hot flashes are really harmful. After a clarifying conversation and evaluation of the data, the usage behavior of the other person will surely change. You just have to be aware of the problems.
