And on with the assembly! Now it’s time for the endstops for the X-axis…
… this is attached to the Z block.
Next point, next non-surprise. If life would always be that easy…
As a stop for the limit switches, spacers are mounted on the left and right side of the X-beam, so that our milling machine does not go beyond the working area.
We do the same for the Y-axis…
there, too, we attach two end stops at the front and two at the back.
Now we turn our attention to the wiring, at least a small part of it.
What I particularly like here is the fact that TwoTrees uses a drag chain in which all the cables are already securely fastened and neatly arranged. All that’s left to do is connect them to the loads.
Next, we install the core component of the TwoTrees 450.
This controller box simultaneously has an emergency stop switch, a DC input, a micro SD card slot, a USB port and of course the obligatory on/off button.
Let’s slowly get to the final spurt of wiring. At the bottom of the milling machine, the two cables for the Y-motors are routed through the aluminum profiles.
So that the whole thing looks neat and is sealed dust-tight, TwoTrees even includes profile rails here.
Now it’s time to mount the screen, but I’ll leave out the manual as a picture, it looks exactly the same…
And the spindle – well, let’s call it a little spindle – we still have to banish to its place. Again, I’ll leave out the manual, otherwise you’ll scroll your way through it.
Interim conclusion
As you can see, the assembly itself is really not a big challenge. The assembly is pretty smooth up to this point, and the manual really helped a lot here, as everything was presented clearly and understandably. The only sticking point is the somewhat small 80W spindle. There will probably be an upgrade here in the future. The fit of the parts is really excellent and I had no problems at all assembling the parts.
